Spiritual Wellness - January Theme

Happy New Year!

I’m starting a new series this year on the blog that is based on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. In 2022, I was focused on my own wellness and I found this “wheel” along with the feelings wheel, to help me identify areas of wellness where I had gaps (or giant holes!).

I audited my life according to each area and then went on an exploration and made a short list of how I wanted to support my overall wellness journey in the areas.

It was helpful for me and I would like to share it with you.

Each month on the blog, minus a break or two, I will have at least one article focused on one of these areas of wellness.

January’s theme is “Spiritual Wellness.”

Spiritual Wellness is when we are in touch with our spiritual selves and find meaning in life events. It is connecting to your inner and outer worlds to support you in understanding what has shaped your values, morals, beliefs that guide you in your life’s purpose.

Some ways to connect with your spiritual self are:

· Prayer and Meditation

· Tuning into your relationships with God, yourself and others

· Connecting with nature

· Taking time to be alone

· Cultivating self-awareness, self-compassion and self-forgiveness

· Journaling your thoughts and feelings

· Identifying your values and beliefs and how they show up different areas of your life

· Understanding how you are made and living out your life’s purpose(s)

· Play, dance/movement/yoga

Do a quick examination and see how connected you are to your spiritual self. Be honest. And if there is a gap, start with one easy way that you will support yourself. Then do it!
